Websites
There are so many resources out there that teachers can use in the classroom.
The following three websites are great tools for students to use that help them learn more about science and ocean life! Each website has interactive games, videos, and worksheets for students.

Poem
Sea Creatures by Meish Goldish
This poem allows students to use their imagination to explore the ocean. To capture the essence of the poem, the teacher should have the students close their eyes while the teacher reads the poem out loud. This way the students can focus on what the words truly mean and paint a picture in their mind of what the poem is describing.
Sea Creatures
Come along, come with me,
Take a dive in the deep blue sea.
Put on your gear, let's explore
All the way to the ocean floor!
Take a dive in the deep blue sea.
Put on your gear, let's explore
All the way to the ocean floor!
See that snail wrapped in cursl?
Look! An oyster wearing pearls!
Watch the octopus oh so dark,
But don't you dare to pet the shark!

Dive on down, seaward bound,
Motion in the ocean is all around!
Dive on down, seaward bound.
Motion in the ocean is all around.
Motion in the ocean is all around!
Dive on down, seaward bound.
Motion in the ocean is all around.
Now we're very far below,
The lantern fish are all aglow.
Is that a tiny shock you feel?
You just met an electric eel!
The lantern fish are all aglow.
Is that a tiny shock you feel?
You just met an electric eel!
Giant blue whales start to stir,
Bigger than dinosaurs ever were!
Wave good-bye to the squid and sponge,
This is the end of our deep-sea plunge!

Chapter Book
The Magic School Bus Chapter Books are great for younger students to let their imagination soar and still learn.
The Chapter Book I chose for this curriculum guide is:
The
Great Shark Escape (Magic School Bus) by Jennifer Johnston
When Ms. Frizzle, the teacher, decides to take her class to
the aquarium, they end up going to see more than just fish. The class takes a
drip to the depths of the ocean where the class gets stuck in the jaws of a
shark. The class must escape the shark all while Ms. Frizzle teaches the class
about the many different species of sharks that live in the ocean.
